Bothering Bald faced hornets with an Action Drone AD-1

  • ℹ️ Description
Hornet Hacking with a Quadcopter HD

Our kids noticed this big hornets nest while riding their four wheelers. Having four hives of honeybees very near, I decided to do some filming. Using my Action Drone AD-1 equipped with the Naza M V2 and GoPro3 Black, we set out to just fly up to and video the reaction, thinking they would swarm the multirotor. I was flying Line of site from a relatively safe distance, which, along with losing GPS signal in close to the building, resulted in impacting the nest. Even then, the hornets did not swarm the drone. The nest was completely repaired less than 24 hours later, my next attack wave is in the planning stages, no stings yet and going to try and keep it that way!
Action Drone AD-1 is controlled with a Taranis X9D+ and X8R rx. Filmed with four cameras--Nikon D800/28-300---Sony A5100/16mm pancake---GoPro3 Black---Mobius. Stills edited in Lightroom 6, video compiled and edited in Final Cut Pro X.

My husband loved flying his drones, so mr Larry driemel he was not showing off. My husband was tragically taken from us in a car accident last month. So please keep all rude comments to yourself, since he is no longer here to defend himself. His three young children and myself miss him dearly everyday.

I haven't seen this vid in a long time. I'm still in disbelief that this good man in the prime of his life was killed in a car accident. It shook me to the core, back then, and still affects me to this day. He had the perfect life going. Wife and kid's, beautiful home, and a hell of a nice drone, camera's, everything ! He was very knowledgeable with this fine equipment. Then out of nowhere, the unexpected tragedy occurs, and changes life forever. I celebrate his life, and thank him for his contribution to people of all ages around the world. He left his mark in the world, and he is definitely in a better place. God bless this family, and give them the guidance that he no longer can. R.I.P. big man .. You Rock for all time 👍😎❤
